The Environmental Voter Project (EVP) is a new Boston-based nonprofit that met with Green Newton board members in mid-March. Using cutting-edge techniques, EVP has identified 6,535 non-voting environmentalists in Newton plus an additional 2,452 environmentalists who aren’t even registered to vote. Their volunteers would love to team up with local Newton volunteers to canvas and call these environmentalists during the spring and summertime. EVP is non-partisan and does not endorse candidates; Newton volunteers would simply be registering voters and talking about the importance of consistent voting habits. If you’re interested in joining these efforts to dramatically increase the number of environmentalists who vote, please email peter@environmentalvoter.org and also visit www.environmentalvoter.org to learn more about this cutting-edge environmental nonprofit.
