The City of Newton will be hosting a paper shredding and drug take-back event on Saturday, November 17 from 8am-12pm (rain or shine) at the Newton Resource Recovery Center (115 Rumford Ave., Newton). Advanced sign-up is required! Call the Newton Senior Center Front Desk at 617-796-1660 to register for a 15-minute time slot from 8am-noon.
This is a good time to clean out your old files and medicine cabinets. Shredding is residential only (no businesses). Staples may be left in documents, and paper bags may be shredded. Limited to four paper boxes or eight paper bags per car.
You can also bring all of your old or unused medications to be properly disposed of, however NO liquids, aerosols, or sharps will be accepted. Residents will be asked to remain in their cars during shredding and drug take-back for safety reasons.
