Green Lifestyle Course: Live More Sustainably, Make Healthier Choices and Cut your Bills

If you’d like to learn how to reduce your use of energy, water, waste and toxins; and be a more eco-friendly consumer this is the course for you. The scheduled dates (7:30-9pm) are:

  • Tuesday session: Sept. 25, Oct. 9, Oct. 23
  • Thursday session: Sept 27, Oct. 11, Oct. 25

The instructor, Dan Ruben, is a Green Newton board member, who has facilitated over 30 “Household Eco-Teams” and “Low Carbon Diet Teams”, and helped over 200 households live more sustainably. In his own life, he has reduced his fossil fuel use by over 80%. As a professional, Dan is the president of Boston Green Tourism, an organization that educates hoteliers about reducing their properties’ use of fossil fuel, water, waste and toxins.

“The Green Living class really helped me systematically review my lifestyle and identify several achievable ways to make affordable and significant improvements.    I enjoyed sharing my own story and hearing those of the other group members about our efforts at ‘green living’.   It was particularly helpful to go through Dan’s extensive list of practices; he and others offered very practical tips about implementing many of the items.   I learned so much from the class and highly recommend it!”  —Dede Vittori

Free for Green Newton members. Non-Green Newton members: $25 for a Green Newton membership. To register or ask questions, contact Dan: dan_ruben@usa.net or 617-527-7950.
