Since October, Newton Energy $avers has made great progress by completing over 500 Mass Save home energy assessments toward our 1,000-assessments goal. With Next Step Living contributing $15 to Green Newton for each completed assessment, those contributions will be reinvested to fund weatherization improvements at a safe home for victims of domestic violence.
Much needed support for the project is coming from religious congregations, and as of mid-February, they include: Eliot Church, Grace Church, Second Church, First Unitarian Society of Newton, Our Lady Help of Christians Parish and Sacred Heart Parish, Mishkan Tefila and Temple Shalom. Also, Newton school PTOs that offer sign-up links (created for each school) will receive a $10 donation from Green Newton for each completed assessment. As of mid-February, participating PTOs include: Angier, Burr, Countryside, Day, Mason- Rice, Newton North, Williams and Zervas.
