Welcome to Newton Goes Solar!

Thank you for making Newton Goes Solar a great success!

The 2017 Newton Goes Solar initiative from Green Newton has now ended.

The program was very successful, adding 47 new solar installations in Newton and surrounding communities.   Although this program has now ended, Green Newton strongly supports the increased use of residential and commercial solar as a way to decrease our dependence on fossil fuels.   The solar industry is constantly changing.   We encourage you to read here about our 2017 Newton Goes Solar campaign, to investigate solar for your home or business, and to ask questions by contacting us at [email protected].  You may also contact our 2017 solar partners directly for more information or for a solar quote.

For our 2017 initiative, we selected two highly qualified suppliers to work with; one specializing in PPA (Power Purchase Agreements) and the other specializing in Customer Owned systems.  We offered our community the opportunity to receive free quotes and discounted pricing on solar systems installed by our solar partners:

  • Sunlight Solarfor Customer Owned systems
  • Solar Five for PPA (Power Purchase Agreements)

Why go solar?

  • Rooftop solar is more affordable than ever through incentives, lower costs, and improved equipment efficiency

  • Little or no maintenance–no moving parts!

  • You save money on your electric bill every month

  • Every solar installation is a huge win for the environment–reduces use of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions
