On Friday, December 6 from 10:30am -2:30pm, thousands of people will gather again to strike from school and work to fight for climate justice. Join students at Newton North High School before heading to Copley Square in Boston to stand for a Massachusetts Green New Deal!
Student organizers of the Newton Climate Strike would love to have support from the Green Newton community at their “sustainable transportation” event.
Here’s the schedule:
8am – Meet at Newton High School on Tiger Drive (Main entrance— the circular driveway) with a bike if you have one and rally as a people-protected bike lane on Walnut Street is set up.
8:30am – Bikers will start moving to City Hall and walkers will follow after them.
9am – Rally at Newton City Hall with City Councilors and members of the community
9:45am – Start walking or biking to Newton Centre to take the Green Line to Copley Square in Boston. Bikers will leave their bikes in Newton Centre.
