Give Your Input on February 15 to Make Washington Street Pedestrian and Bicycle Friendly

Bike Newton has data that shows that Washington Street is one of the most dangerous sections of the city for vehicle crashes, as well as bike and pedestrian crashes. Similar streets in surrounding communities have installed protected bike lanes, sidewalks, safer pedestrian crossings and more green space and trees. These are the types of changes that can make the street safer and set the stage for a vibrant village that can attract businesses.

The Newtonville Area Council is hosting a public event on Thursday, February 15 from 7-9:15pm at the Newton Senior Center (345 Walnut St., Newtonville) to gather ideas on Washington Street. Bike Newton leadership will be there to participate in this citizen run event.  Please RSVP by February 14 at [email protected].

If you are not able to make it, you are welcome to send an email to [email protected].  Your comments will be included in the discussion.
