Students for a Greener World

Initiative:

Students for a Greener World (SGW) is a dedicated group of middle and high school students whose goal is to reach out to kids of all ages and to help them learn and practice environmentally friendly actions at home, school — and have fun doing it! Some of their projects include:

  • Coordinating the Annual Environmental Art Contest for school aged kids
  • Organizing Envirojam the Newton North High School rock concert to raise money for the environment
  • Creating awareness campaigns to help Newton businesses increase recycling rates and decrease use of disposable water bottles
  • Helping visitors at the Farmer’s Market Green Newton booth
