Hi, this is Emma McKee and Cat DeGroot. This summer we created a youth community call to have discussions about topics surrounding current events and climate justice. We would like your help in getting the word out to anyone you know in high school or college that would be interested in these topics.
Our hope is to encourage Newton youth to take a leadership role as environmental advocates. We aim to grow the Green Newton community, and in turn, create a ripple effect that will spark conversations around climate justice in our community. Arundahati Roy said that “another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.” His words apply perfectly to our current moment. Now is the time to create lasting change for the future, and together we can see this through.
Our meetings take place once a week over zoom for the next few weeks.
