‘Green Building Principles for Newton’ Talk at the Newton Free Library on March 25

Join Green Newton in the Druker Auditorium of the Newton Free Library (330 Homer St., Newton) at 7pm on Monday March 25 for a presentation by leaders in green building innovation.

Paul Eldrenkamp of Byggmeister, Inc., a design-build remodeling firm specializing in energy-efficient retrofits will cover Green Newton’s Sustainable Building Principles. Paul is a Certified Passive House Consultant constructing low energy buildings.

Nick Falkoff, Principal of Auburndale Builders Inc, a residential and commercial construction firm with expertise in building net-zero homes, will make a presentation on the Passive House baseline energy standard.

Rachel White, General Manager of Byggmeister, will discuss the movement towards electrified buildings that are off the natural gas grid, with case studies of existing “all-electric” single-family homes and strategies for reducing the embodied carbon in construction.

Dan Ruben, Green Newton’s leader of its Building Standards Committee, will discuss Green Newton’s stance on new construction projects in the city.
