A few weeks ago, Green Newton sent a message of appreciation to Newton’s State Representatives Ruth Balser and Kay Khan for signing on as co-sponsors for key bills that reflect the legislative priorities of Mass Power Forward. Green Newton, a member of Mass Power Forward, contacted our representatives to thank them for co-sponsoring our priority bills.

Since state senators have had a longer time frame to co-sponsor bills, we were recently informed that Senator Creem has also signed on to co-sponsor bills (click HERE to view listing and descriptions), including SD1632 (Eldridge) to accelerate the RPS (Renewable Portfolio Standard) and SD1674 (Jehlen) to protect ratepayers from gas pipeline expansion costs. She is also co-sponsoring the following three bills: SD2049 (Pacheco) comprehensive energy bill; SD1294 (Cyr) municipal contracting for renewables and SD1113 (Eldridge) no charge for lost gas.

Green Newton is grateful for Senator Creem’s co-sponsorship of those bills, as well as her solid support for proposed legislation that promotes renewable energy, protects customers from paying for pipeline expansion or lost gas, promotes toxics reduction and environmental justice, and other policies to protect public health and welfare, and the environment.
