Moving Forward on Green Transportation
March 23 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
In Massachusetts, the transportation sector emits more GHG than any other sector and it is the only sector that is growing. Join Green Newton for a panel discussion of what can be done to help our region and our city move forward on green transportation and achieve our climate goals related to GHG reductions. We will discuss regional policy changes and infrastructure being considered such as TCI (Transportation Climate Initiative), congestion pricing, and transit improvements. We will also discuss what cities like Newton can do to support mode shift, the moving of trips from vehicles to walking, biking, and transit. Lastly, we will discuss the role of electric vehicles in green transportation and what is required to support them.
