GREENING NEWTON SCHOOLS & COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARDS AT GN PRESENTATION

Join Green Newton on MONDAY, MAY 21 AT 7PM in the DRUKER AUDITORIUM OF
THE NEWTON FREE LIBRARY (330 HOMER ST., NEWTON) for the '2018 Green
Submarine Tour de Newton! & Leadership Awards'.
Produced and hosted by Students for a Greener World (SGW), students from
Newton schools come together to show how they're helping the environment
through projects such as:
* Peirce Elementary's Outdoor Classroom/Garden;
* Underwood Elementary's Recycling & Composting Green Machine;
* Newton South's Marine Biology Shark Team;
* Newton North's Nicaragua Ecology Trip;
* SGW's community outreach.
SGW will also present the 2018 WILD BOAR AWARDS, which will be followed
by a presentation of the GREEN NEWTON'S 2018 ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP
AWARDS to an individual, local organization and Newton business. Waneta
Trabert, Newton's Director of Environmental Affairs, will receive Green
Newton's Award to an individual. Mothers Out Front Newton will receive
our award to a community group, and Byggmeister Design Build will
receive our award to a local business. We hope you will join us to
honor the outstanding work by our awardees to increase the environmental
sustainability of our community.
