On February 21 the Boston Globe Editorial Board endorsed the proposed Northland development. Newton will hold a referendum on March 3 to decide whether the development should be built as approved by Newton City Council in January in a 17-7 vote. The Editorial Board wrote,”The Northland project would create the largest infusion of affordable housing in the city’s history and give momentum to a movement to rethink the suburbs.”
