On Thursday, December 6 at 6pm at Dunne House at Lasell College (74 Grove Street, Auburndale), join Juan Pestana, the senior principal for Geosyntec Consultants and an emeritus professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, for his presentation ‘Coastal Cities and the Increasing Concerns of Rising Sea Levels.’ He will talk about the rising need for flood prevention programs for coastal cities such as, the City of Venice and Boston. As preventative programs are put in place, cuts are being made across both environmental and engineering spectrums. Pestana will discuss the implications for flood protection within these cities and throughout the United States.
Developed to help enrich the Lasell College Community, Presidential Speaker Series events are free and open to the public. Presentations include refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, as well as a Q&A session with the presenter.
