Green Newton is a volunteer-driven organization. We have a range of interesting opportunities to get involved in our efforts to help support the environment, in Newton and beyond!

Volunteers will help to inform and motivate individuals of all ages in our community to reduce their carbon footprint in order to meet the goals of Newton’s Climate Action Plan. Some examples of potential volunteer opportunities include:

  • Assisting with membership mailings

  • Writing articles for Green Newton’s weekly e-newsletter and updating our website

  • Getting involved in our School Connections program or our Environmental Youth Leadership group

  • Spreading the word about Green Newton events and initiatives in your community, at your place of work, at your religious institution, at your school, and on social media

  • Using chalk art, designing graphics, or making videos to promote campaigns and events

  • Arranging speaking engagements for Green Newton within the community

  • Advocating for environmental legislation in Newton

  • Special projects as needed

If you’re interested in following up on any of these opportunities, or if you have an idea for a volunteer project based on your skills or background, please contact us at info@greennewton.org. In addition to volunteering, we regularly have internship opportunities for students.

Thank you!
